Chris Spencer, C (Sea) |
Spencer will miss the rest of the season. Coach Mike Holmgren said Wednesday that Spencer has a disk problem in his back.

Victor Hobson, LB (Cin) |
The Bengals signed Hobson on Wednesday to bolster their injury-plagued defense.
Analysis: A sixth-year pro, Hobson was cut by the New England Patriots just before the regular season began. He played five years for the New York Jets, making 58 starts that included 14 of 16 games last season. The 6-foot, 250-pound second-round draft pick from Michigan joins a team that has lost a half-dozen defensive players to injury. The latest was safety Marvin White, who tore knee ligaments in Sunday's 34-3 loss to Baltimore. |

Grady Jackson, DT (Atl) |
The NFL suspended six players on Tuesday for four games for using a diuretic, which can serve as a masking agent for steroids. Jackson was part of the original investigation, but was not suspended. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said league chief counsel Jeff Pash had asked for additional information from Jackson.
Analysis: Jackson has 15 solo tackles and a sack for a stout Falcons defense, and he's started 11 of the team's 12 games. |

Deuce McAllister, RB (NO) |
McCallister was among six players suspended for four games Tuesday by the NFL for using a diuretic, which can serve as a masking agent for steroids.
Analysis: McCallister didn't have much of a fantasy impact this season, and with Reggie Bush returning to full strength, he wouldn't have factored in much down the stretch. |

Charles Grant, DE (NO) |
Grant was among six players suspended for four games Tuesday by the NFL for using a diuretic, which can serve as a masking agent for steroids.
Analysis: Grant was already out for the season because of a triceps injury, meaning his suspension will likely be served at the beginning of the 2009 season. |

Will Smith, DE (NO) |
Smith was among six players suspended for four games Tuesday by the NFL for using a diuretic, which can serve as a masking agent for steroids.
Analysis: Losing Smith is a big blow to the Saints' defense, which will be hurting for pass rushers as they try to claw their way back into the NFC playoff picture. New Orleans ranks 24th in the league against the pass. |

Pat Williams, DT (Min) |
Williams was among six players suspended for four games Tuesday by the NFL for using a diuretic, which can serve as a masking agent for steroids.
Analysis: The punishment - fellow Vikings tackle Kevin Williams was also suspended - is an especially harsh blow to Minnesota, which leads the NFC North and relies heavily on the two Williamses in its run defense, which ranks second in the league. |

Matt Jones, WR (Jac) |
Jones caught eight passes for 104 yards, but it wasn't enough as the slumping Jaguars fell 30-17 at Houston on Monday night.

Analysis: This was Taylor's first touchdown of the season. He has been held below the 100-yard mark in all but one game this season, but he's second on the team with 503 rushing yards on 130 carries. Jacksonville visits Chicago on Sunday, and the Bears are limiting opponents to 88.8 rushing yards per game this season. |
| 12/2/2008 |
David Garrard, QB (Jac) |
Garrard went 25-for-35 for 287 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn't enough as the slumping Jaguars fell 30-17 at Houston on Monday night.
Analysis: Garrard has averaged 248.2 yards and has totaled six touchdowns in the Jaguars' last six games - a span in which they have gone 1-5. Overall, the quarterback has thrown 2,748 yards and 10 touchdowns in 12 games this season. Jacksonville visits Chicago on Sunday, and the Bears are allowing 240.5 passing yards per game. |

Analysis: Slaton's 7-yard score made it 23-3 with 4:35 to go, and he tacked on a 40-yard TD run in the final two minutes. He finished with 130 yards rushing on 21 carries, and also had two catches for 52 yards in front of a franchise-record crowd of 70,809. "Nothing's too big for him," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. "To watch him get stronger at the end of the game is impressive." Slaton leads Houston in rushing with 180 carries for 904 yards and eight touchdowns. |

John McCargo, DT (Buf) |
McCargo was placed on season-ending injured reserve on Friday because of a back injury.
Analysis: The backup defensive lineman appeared in seven games for the Bills in 2008, but hadn't played since a loss at New England on Nov. 9. McCargo's trade to Indianapolis earlier this season was voided after he failed his physical with the Colts because of a reported bulging disk in his back. |
| 12/2/2008 |
Kenny Pettway, LB (GB) |
Pettway was placed on the injured reserve on Monday with a knee injury.
Analysis: Pettway played in the Packers' loss to Carolina on Sunday, but it is unclear how he was hurt. The third-year linebacker had played in eight of Green Bay's 12 games this season. |
| 12/2/2008 |
Nick Barnett, LB (GB) |
Barnett has a torn knee ligament and is expected to miss the rest of the season, according to the Packers' official Web site.
